Neue Canna von Herrn. F. Lombard.
New Canna of F. Lombard esq.
(Herrn.= gentleman. Probably a wealthy hobbyist)
Es ist dem Züchter gelungen, dieselben aus Befruchtungen zwischen C. Ehmanni und den schon im Handel, befindlichen Sorten zu erzielen. Die Blätter sind von prächtig Musa-ähnlicher Form, die Blumen ebenso gross wie die der C. Ehmanni; nur sind sie nicht so reichblühend als die Crozy’ schen Hybriden. (Die Farbenbeschreibungen sind die des Züchters.)
The breeder succeeded, with the same fertilizations between C. Ehmanni and others already in the trade, to obtain these sorts. The leaves are from a magnificent Musa similar form, the flowers just as large as those C. Ehmanni; only they are nothing like as abundantly flowering as the Crozy’s hybrids. (The descriptions of colour are those of the breeder.)

Canna iridiflora Ehmannii.
Diese prachtvolle Cauna ist wegen ihres Musa-artigen Blattes und ihrer sehr grossen karo minrothen Blumen die schönste Sorte zur Einzelpflanzung auf Rasen. Höhe ca. 1 1/2 m.
This Canna is so splendid because of their Musa well-behaved leaves and their very large carmine red flowers the most beautiful sort for specimen planting on lawns. Height approx.. 1 1/2 m.

Canna iridiflora Noutoni.
Eine prachtvolle Neuheit mit grossen scharlachblutrothen Gladiolus-ähnlichen Blumen. Die Pflanze wird 2 m hoch. Die’ Blüthezeit dauert ununterbrochen von Juni bis Ende Oktober. Sie stammt von Canna iridiflora Ehmannii. Sie übertrifft dieselben aber bedeutend. Auf Rasen sowie zu ganzen Gruppen ist es eine ausgezeichnete Acquisition.
A splendid novelty with large scarlet red Gladiolus type flowers. The plant grows 2 m high. The Blooming season lasts continuously from June to at the end of October. It comes from Canna iridiflora Ehmannii. However, in importance it exceeds that one. On lawns as well as massed it is an excellent Acquisition.
